Retrofit Case Study Films

We're in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. We live in a lovely, leafy area, great amenities, fantastic for the kids. However, it does present us with one problem, which is limescale. So when we were doing the renovations, I wanted to have the opportunity to eliminate the hard water issue, it was becoming quite difficult having three children with skin problems as well. So it was not just domestic issue, but also for the children. So I did some research, and I looked up into hard water and various solutions and found calcium. We'd live in the house for a few years by now and the hard water was presenting an issue daily. My first priority were my children and a couple of the kids did have eczema. So their skin would get irritated, so that was my priority to resolve. And I'm glad Raj found Halcyan, because it's actually made a life changing difference. There were lots of different solutions on the market, one of them being the water softeners. When I looked into it, I realised it was very costly, time consuming. It involved changing salts on a regular basis. With busy lifestyles, three young children, it's not something that I wanted to be having to do. It also strips away a lot of the minerals and the and the sediments in the water, which I did not want. So the limescale itself is a problem, but I didn't want to be stripping the water away from all the the good stuff. Something in particular that attracted me to Halcyan was the thirty year guarantee. It is brilliant because it's compact, it's tucked away, and it's it's not compromising space. The feedback from my plumber who fit the device, he couldn't believe it. He actually asked me, how can something so small give a guaranteed promise of removing an arm scale? I said, I guess I'll have to give it a go. And since then, we've not looked back. And I've noticed a massive change in my own hair and my daughters. They've got lovely long hair, so I've I've I've noticed a difference straight away in the way with our shampoos and the condition of our hair. We're having to use less products, and we are able to let let hair naturally dry with and still being soft. Whereas before, like I said, hair was becoming quite dry and brittle. A relative of mine, he moved the area and I did inform him of the housing device which led him to make a purchase. So I spoke to him just the other day and he too has been absolutely mesmerised by the, effects of the of the device. So there is calcium still in the water, but it just can't behave the way it wants to. So cleaning is is very quick and easy, effective. Just a quick wipe, and it's gone. We've had glass shower screens. It doesn't leave the residue. So the maintenance is is very low and easy. If the onset cost was proportionately high compared to the competition, I didn't mind paying it as long as it gave me the desired results, which it has. Knowing that there's gonna be no breakdown in the appliances moving forward, it is also built in the cost of the product. So it's an absolute economical benefit to to the household. When we were doing the renovations, we were having dishwashers installed, taps and fridges and whatnot. So for me, it was important to get to the source of the problem, which was the hard water. Three generations live in this house. Parents, obviously me and Raj, and the three children. I wanted to make it equipped for the future, and it's nice to know that the Halcyan device has also modernised the house, eliminating all limescale.

This particular room was always cool. The space was uncomfortable in the wintertime. At one point, we thought about the the log burner. It made it livable, but it was not the ideal solution, and then eventually came to the crisis point where there was no heating upstairs because of a blockage. Really, the solution had there was no science to the solution when I talked to people, was generally just let's add more of these, but I still work at home. I'm very active. I work as a leadership coach and I work as a photographer, so I spend a lot of time in the house and mostly it was one if not two fleeces quite often, and if you're working online, which I do when I'm doing my coaching, you're very stationary and so therefore you feel the cold and people notice that you've got three fleeces on when you're coaching them. Not a great look, so really something had to happen. I think searching the web is particularly difficult, I think the reason for that is there are too many vested interests, so for me it was a case of I wanted to find out who could I could I find an independent adviser that wasn't selling something and didn't have a vested interest who could advise me what was the right thing to do? The key I think piece of information was the size of radiators or as they technically call it emitters. I think that was a really big thing, the understanding of it, it was so obvious but it wasn't so obvious because no one had ever mentioned it. But given the grant system, it made the consideration of it, but in terms of the payback, it changed the payback period and when you're older in life, maybe that's something you think about, right? When we looked at all of that, the grants that were available, really the potential of the solution, fact and also its eco became a straightforward decision. I would say on meeting him, Sean and his company, he really came from a non biased point of view. Was trying to solve the problem. He understood that comfort was we talked about that the comfort was the first priority really. Find somebody you can trust. That's really important because you've got to invite them into your in your home and your home is your safe space. It's a very psychologically very important place for people. Sean talked about his experience and the fact that he had worked in, you know, project managed as well as as well as having a technical background. Part of the work was to lift up the floor on on the upstairs because there was there was no heating and there was legacy micro board pipe. Sean did that himself. He did that part himself because he wanted to make sure that it was done properly and it was done with a minimum of fuss and a minimum of disturbance. He put everything back the way he found it. I can't speak highly enough of him. One thing I can definitely say is Sean's not a boiler basher. He has so much to bring to the situation, not just his technical solution, the ability to work out what the heat loss says, what you need to put in in terms of heat output, you know, the kind of various technologies that are available. He manages the whole project, he manages his material, he manages the people, so he's most certainly not a boiler bacher. So the the real difference now is this even temperature, which in a sense I still haven't got used to even months down the line. You know, when you get out of bed in the morning, it's not cold, it's even temperature. When you walk down the stairs to get your coffee in the morning, which is a really important moment for me, it's an even temperature, you know, and and you haven't put on all your layers and layers and layers of clothes. You just walk around the house with I walk around the house, all I have is a shirt on there I don't need to wear I don't need to wear a fleece anymore. So it's dramatically different. I would say though that I have one caveat is you have to water your plants a lot more. The danger when your house doesn't function is that you retreat into one space that you heat, So having a even heated house in which every room is heated I think to me that's a basic right for people and it can be done if people do the job properly.
